EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
Each student has the ability to learn when provided with a secure, caring, and stimulating learning environment. My role as an educator is to provide a VISION for the learner by offering support, encouragement, and education.
The remarkable aspect of teaching is that both the learner and facilitator are enhanced by the collaboration. It is indeed a rewarding experience to assist students in overcoming learning challenges.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Language Arts and then went on to receive a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I am a certified teacher in the state of Arizona and have been teaching in the classroom since 2007. Currently, I am completing my Doctorate Degree in Education.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
Presently I have completed 16 years of secondary and collegiate educational instruction. In the secondary schools, the past six years has been dedicated to 11th and 12th grade students. Additionally, I also teach postsecondary students in Written Communication and American and British Literature. I have also taught Multicultural Literature in the high school classrooms.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
I have taught Journalism which includes visual media. The Capstone and Career Exploration classes are utilized to assist students transition beyond the secondary academic environment.
