EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
My philosophy on education is that every child deserves a safe and nurturing learning environment. When they are comfortable with their educators and peers they are more willing to take risks and express their ideas. I believe that teaching and learning are ongoing processes and that I am responsible for adapting my teaching so that all students are able to learn equally.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
I attended Queen’s University and majored in Philosophy but supplemented that with courses in Art History, English and Mathematics. I then received my Bachelor of Education Degree. I graduated with that degree from Brandon University in Brandon, Manitoba in 2012 and began my teaching career.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
After graduating in 2012 I began substitute teaching in the Brandon School Division. I also taught full time in the classroom.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
Most of my extracurricular activities revolve around the activities that my children do these days. However, I volunteer with the Navy League Cadets of Canada and with the Nova Scotia Highland Dance Association as well. I also regularly visit the gym to keep my own health at a premium.
