EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
My philosophy is based in constructivism with humanistic ideals. I believe that above all, knowledge of the learner can help teachers assist students through interactive, dynamic, and multifaceted approaches. Those students will then be best prepared to face a changing and evolving world.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
I studied Biomedical Biology at Laurentian University graduating Cum Laude in 2012. I worked as a graduate researcher at the Northern Ontario School of Medicine before pursing my passion for teaching. I began and completed a Bachelor’s of Education degree at Nipissing University. Currently, I am a certified teacher in Ontario.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have previous experience as a tutor, an academic coach, and a teaching assistant. I have provided one-on-one tutoring to students in a variety of secondary school courses. Furthermore, I coordinated instructional efforts with professors and laboratory coordinators as a teaching assistant for undergraduate genetics and microbiology courses.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
I bring a variety of experiences and activities into my teaching, when appropriate. I enjoying reading, scrapbooking,and baking during my spare time. I appreciate athletics and participate in a volleyball and a softball league throughout the year. Lastly, I am fond of travel and hope to experience a number of different places and cultures within my lifetime.
