EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
I believe that each student needs the opportunity to learn within the best possible conditions for him or herself. Opportunities must be provided in order for students to thrive. Lessons should be provided to students in a way that applies to real-world problems that will apply to future endeavors.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
I earned my Bachelor’s Degree at Montclair State University in Montclair, New Jersey. The degree is in Family and Child Studies with a concentration in Elementary Education as well as a Middle School Mathematics certificate in grades 5-8. Currently, I have my Initial Certificate in grades 1-6 in New York State. As of August 2014, I received a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
Currently, I am a sixth grade teacher of Mathematics and English Language Arts. I have been at my current school for almost two years. Previously, I was a sixth grade mathematics teacher at a charter school in a low-income and poverty stricken area. My earliest experience was a Kindergarten teacher at a private daycare.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
I enjoy being active. I am also interested in personal training and presently, I am studying to earn a personal training certificate. Additionally, I believe in keeping children active in fun, dynamic ways such as obstacle courses and competitions.
