EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
I believe every student has the capacity to learn and understand material given to him or her. Sometimes, it is necessary to ask questions in order to achieve the highest level of understanding. Every student should feel confident about what he or she is learning. Confidence in learning is key to understanding what is being taught.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
In high school, I maintained a spot on the Honour Roll with an average of 85% or higher. Upon graduation I was awarded the Governor General Award for the Highest Academic Average and the OSSTF Gold Medal Award for Academic Excellence (overall highest average in Grade 11 and 12). I went on to study with a double major and minor at York University, and was accepted as a Golden Key Member (Top 15% of Faculty).
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have taught theatre and English studies to children ranging from ages 4 – 16. I have also been a tutor for English, Grammar, and dramatic studies in Elementary, Secondary, and Post Secondary levels.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
I am actively involved with a theatre community in my home town. I enjoy baking, reading, and writing. My reading interests maintain a mostly classical approach. However, I have read and studied various genres and eras of writing and enjoy analyzing literature of all forms.
