EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
I believe that all students can reach their learning potential when given the proper tools and assistance. Learning methods used should be interesting and varied. Teachers must be excited about their subject matter if they are to expect students to be excited.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
I graduated as valedictorian from my High School. I then went on to obtain a B.S. degree in Biology and Physics education. Later, I received a Masters Degree in Natural Sciences including Biology, Chemistry, and Earth Science. I then furthered my education by obtaining an Education Specialist Degree.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I spent my college student teaching working with Jr. High students teaching primarily Life Science courses. I have taught K-6 physical education and 5-8 Sciences in Parochial schools. The bulk of my career was spent at the High School level teaching a wide variety of science courses, including dual credit and AP.
I have taught college courses as adjunct faculty at both Jr. College and University levels. I spent the last years before retirement as a Jr. High Principal and Academic Leader. I currently substitute teach in my local district.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
In the past, I have been a sponsor of prom, Beta Club, National Honor Society, Academic Team, Science Club, and other organizations. In addition I have been a cheer coach. I was on the Dean’s List and involved in several honor societies while in college.
