EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
I have the simple philosophy that all students can learn. It is simply a matter of finding the unique learning style that best serves the student. It is my desire to help students become engaged in their learning. It is also my belief that all students should be given the opportunity to take risks, share ideas, and grow to their full potential through their unique interests and curiosity.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
I received my Bachelor’s Degree in English from Tennessee State University and then became a licensed English teacher in the state of Tennessee.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
Since 2001, I have been an educator in the city of Memphis. I have worked with middle school and high school students. Those students had very diverse backgrounds (economic, racial, and religious). I also had the opportunity to work with students in an alternative setting.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
I normally engage in activities that stimulate my mind and body. I enjoy play chess. I have assisted coaching middle school girls basketball. I also like to read, exercise, and occasionally go bowling for recreation.
