EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
I believe in the philosophy that all students really are individuals with different backgrounds and ways of learning. While one method may work with some students, it will not work with all of them. As a teacher, I must find the common ground with my students to meet their needs and make learning possible, whatever it takes.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Art History with a minor in Latin American Studies. I also have a dual Master’s Degree in Elementary and Special Education. I am a certified teacher in the state of Pennsylvania.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I recently got a certification in TESL and have taught English as a Second language for over 4 years. My other teaching experience is in tutoring and mentoring middle school and high school students in English, math, science, and history. I have experience teaching science exclusively outside in nature. I was a girl scout for over 14 years and have served as a counselor to young women.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
In my spare time, I read novels and spend time paying attention to current events. I enjoy doing crochet, watching sports such as hockey and football, and going hiking in the woods. Mostly, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.
