EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
My belief is that instructors primarily motivate and guide students. As an experienced teacher, I can point out common mistakes students make and suggest resources I have found helpful during my years of experience. My methods differ according to the subject I am tutoring but generally I try to give students a broad overview of the area they are working on while providing enough details to keep them interested and engaged.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Middle Eastern Studies with two minors, one in Religion and one in Arabic. In addition, I also have an Master’s Degree in English Literature. My passion and the unifying thread of my education has always been communicating across racial and cultural borders.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I served in the Peace Corps for two years as an English teacher. Afterwards, I tutored international students while pursuing my Master’s Degree. I then worked at two Boston area colleges. Currently I am developing my own online teaching business and spend the majority of my time directing online courses.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
I am interested in writing and painting. I am currently working on a short illustrated novel inspired by the works of William Blake. I have an extensive library and enjoy reading and tracing the influence of books.
