EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
- Helping students learn effectively is an important role of a teacher. From an Adult Education Instructor’s perspective, to gain knowledge, a student must hear, see, and then do. This philosophy correlates with the utilization of three different leaning styles: Auditory, (learn by hearing) visual (gain knowledge by seeing), and kinesthetic (learn by doing). To help students learn effectively, instructors can help them process knowledge through the incorporation of these learning styles.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
- Adult Education Specialist
In this position, I was the administer of Teaching Adult Basic Education (TABE) diagnostic testing. I also instructed adult learners in mathematics, reading, and writing to prepare for GED and college readiness.
- Adult Education Instructor
This position entailed recording and computing student test scores, progress and attendance in the Kentucky Adult Education System. Another responsibility included the Family Literacy Program. In this role, I was able to help parents participate as full partners in their children’s education, promote interactive literacy activities between parents and their children and prepare adults and children for success.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
I enjoy teaching to help individuals to gain knowledge. I find it to be very self-rewarding. For extracurricular activities, I love volunteering at the Bell County Council on Literacy where I tutor juvenile delinquents, clients from the Comprehensive Care Center, and adults of different ages in Mathematics Reading, and English. Also, I enjoy playing the singing, playing the piano, and writing songs.
