I believe that the whole child should be educated. A balanced instruction with different modalities is necessary for a child to be successful. The physical, creative, and academic child should be educated with researched methods that produce enhanced learning. Lessons should include an objective, modeling, time for the student to practice with guidance, and independent practice with immediate feedback.

I received my Bachelor’s Degree and Teaching certificate from Berry College. I had a full year student teaching experience along with practicum experiences in a variety of grade levels and settings. My education program included an ESOL endorsement.

I recently taught at at a local elementary school in the role of a third grade literacy and social studies teacher. I was able to increase students’ writing assessment scores in 2014. I currently lead phonics and guided reading groups.

I am a member at Trinity United Methodist Church. I attend Sunday School and worship services. I assist in the Children’s Ministry by leading the 3 year old class on Wednesday evenings. I volunteer for Vacation Bible School every summer as a leader.
