EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
I believe that learning should be engaging, and fun for students. I feel strongly about the importance of students finding success within their education. I think that it is very important for educators to empower students to become critical thinkers, and inquisitive learners.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
In 2011 I completed a Bachelor of Physical and Health Education degree from Laurentian University. In 2012, I completed a Bachelor of Education from Laurentian University. Upon graduating I took an additional qualification course which allowed me to become certified to teach grade 11 and 12 Physical Education. I am currently enrolled in a Masters program at Brock University specializing in Applied Disability Studies.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I spent the year of 2012-2013 teaching for the YMCA of Toronto. I taught all age groups but spent most of my time working with students in the senior grades. Last year I taught for the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority. In this role I mostly worked with intermediate level students.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
I enjoy running, travelling, and spending a lot of time outside. I volunteer in my community with a charity called Wellspring Niagara. I am currently in the process of becoming a volunteer coach for a Special Olympics team in my home town.
