EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
Teaching affects ones personal life, personal choices, and decisions. It shapes and influences one’s future. That is why,one needs to have a good sense of self, confidence and flexibility with their teaching approach to maximize everyone’s learning capabilities and styles.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
I am a graduate of Indiana University where I earned a Bachelors of General Studies with concentrations in Mathematics and Natural sciences. In 2009 I was accepted into my university’s Underwater Science program and completed a certificate in Underwater Resource Management. After my studies, I decided to get some professional experience and have been working for the past 4 years, most recently being an ESL teacher in South Korea.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
My teaching experience started when I interned at the Palm Beach Zoo as a Conservation Education Intern. I interacted with visitors and educated them on the importance of environmental and wildlife conservation. After that, I became a part of a medical device team where I educated customers with diabetes on the proper use of their devices, and coached new team members. This past year, I taught English as a second language in South Korea in private English schools to a variety of different leveled students and it was simply amazing.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
In college, I was involved in a sorority and participated in many fundraisers and philanthropic events. While in college I also volunteered at the Indianapolis Zoo. During my professional career, I practiced Karate and participated in tournaments with my team.
