Education is the key to freedom. With a quality, well-rounded education, each of us has the chance to live the life we truly want to live. The goal of an educator, then, is not to give students a list of facts to learn by memorization, but to engender in them an understanding of the world. With this understanding, a student would then have the freedom to pursue whatever life they choose.

I earned my B.A. in English Education from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. After graduation, I worked at the university as an adjunct and Hall Director. I took many art classes in this time, and earned my teaching certification.

I have experience as a college instructor, middle school teacher and high school teacher.

I am an active writer, with one published short story in Trivia Magazine, and a weekly character in a collaborative web-based serial. I keep a clay studio in my garage, and have been juried into two exhibits so far. I and my are avid hikers and photographers. I also play board games regularly.

I received a score of 30 on my ACT exam in high school.
