EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
I will guide my students through their discovery of the world around them. I will assist and support my students through their efforts to understand how the world works. I will promote the expression of values which support acts of conservation, and of environmental protection.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
I have a Bachelor of Science in Zoology and I have a Diploma in Environment Science. I have also completed my Bachelor of Education in Teaching: Biology and Geography.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
My previous teaching experiences consisted of presenting seminars to adults, and the teaching of natural history to children of all ages in a zoological park. I have also presented several seminars at an international symposium.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
I’m a volunteer Area Coordinator for the Ontario Reptile and Amphibian Atlas. I have also provided consultation services to governmental, non-governmental organisations and private herpetoculturists, in regards to indigenous and exotic reptiles and amphibians (primarily turtles and tortoises).
