About Me

I believe a good education is the foundation for a child’s future and the future of our society. To give a student the desire to learn is the utmost responsibility of the teacher.

Academic learning and real-life skills should go hand in hand to maximize student learning. As a teacher, I hope to instill curiosity in my students and guide them in their academic interests.

I am now a senior at Kutztown University, majoring in Secondary Education with a concentration in English. My main focus is ESL. I have a 3.98 GPA overall, and I am very passionate about gaining knowledge in the English and education fields.

I am a trained tutor and teacher’s assistant at The Literacy Center of the Lehigh Valley where I took several courses in tutor training and adult learning.

During my clinical experiences at Kutztown, I taught 7th grade at South Mountain Middle School in Allentown for one semester, and I taught 11th grade and Read 180 at Brandywine Heights High School in Topton.

In addition, I have been a teacher’s assistant in a Beginner’s ESL classroom at The Literacy Center of the Lehigh Valley for almost two years. Previously, I tutored an ESL student at Northwestern Lehigh Middle School who was from Puerto Rico.

I have been in the Honors Program at Kutztown University since I started there. In addition, I am a Presidential Ambassador for the University. Within this organization, I hold a position as the deputy chair for the student engagement committee.

I spent one year as a teacher in Cartoons, Conversation, and Culture at the university, where I taught elementary students about different cultures through reading and drawing. Besides that, I was an exchange student in Ecuador with Kutztown, where I spent time in classrooms learning about education in Ecuador.
