My philosophy is that all students can improve their knowledge or skills in any area given the right support. I believe that many students need tailored education and that the traditional classroom does not necessarily best meet the needs of all our students.

I completed my teaching practicum in Canada and proceeded to teach overseas for four years when I received my teaching certification. I have been in classrooms with students aged 3-18, and have spent most of my teaching career in the Grade 11/12 Biology classroom, as well as teaching Middle School General Sciences. Working at an international school, I have worked with many students who are learning English as an Additional Language and have catered to students with a wide variety of different learning needs.

I am currently on my Health Sciences student government as the Vice-President, Finance. I am also a union representative for our university teaching assistants. While I was teaching, I was an active coach and coached students in cross country, track, soccer and volleyball. I am also a recreational runner and rock climber.
