I believe that every individual has their own learning style, and that part of being a good educator is acknowledging, accepting, and gearing instruction to fit that style to encourage success. I am a firm believer in scaffolding (adjusting the amount of guidance and support to fit the student’s current performance level).

I am a student in Queen’s University Developmental Psychology PhD program. I have an Master’s Degree in Developmental Psychology, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, with a minor in Sociology and and emphasis in education.

I have worked as a teaching assistant in a University for the past four years. In that time I have also tutored highschool students and undergraduate university students. I also have experience assisting in elementry school classrooms, and cadet training courses. Lastly, I have had the opportunity to provide homeschool instruction for a year to one of my own children.

I spend most of my time conducting research, reading research, and writing during my pursuit of my PhD. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking, and trying new activities.
