EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
I believe that all students may achieve certain academic success with caring, attentive and skilled instruction. By recognizing students unique gifts for learning, it is possible to design learning opportunities that work best for them as the most important aspect of imparting knowledge is to understand the ways in which students are most receptive.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
I began my academic career in Fine Art, transitioning into English as a returning student. In addition to completing my Bachelor’s Degree in English, I also took 30 semester credits in Communication and Education. I am now pursuing my Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
In the corporate and private sector, I have written curriculum for extracurricular classroom activities, consulted and given in-school presentations on: media literacy and educational techology, critical analysis,and women’s studies. I have also substituted in the private school sector for many years.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
I am a group leader to a group for teen parents. I also volunteer for non-profit housing to raise funds.
