EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY

I believe all children can learn when they are believed in and provided for. Often, excuses involving poverty, ethnicity, or English-speaking barriers are made. Although, these are all disadvantages, I do not believe they should hinder the child’s capability to achieve success similar to any other child in today’s society. Perhaps alternative strategies to target these disadvantaged individuals are necessary to uphold today’s educational standards.
I strongly believe that the teachers who implement new techniques to engage young minds have a higher success rate in keeping students stimulated and eager to learn. It is important to close the gap between diverse students, enabling all students to perform to their maximum ability despite their disparate backgrounds. It is imperative to maintain high expectations for all students. Every child has a gift and teachers play a critical role in helping the student discover their individual talents or hidden gifts that make them who they are.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND

I received my Bachelors of Science from Morehead State University. I was recently accepted into Sullivan University’s Physician Assistant Program and I am currently working on my Masters of Arts in Teaching. I regularly participate in seminars, conferences and ongoing education concerning spinal cord and brain injury research.
