EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
When students achieve success, they will develop confidence in their abilities. As confidence develops, students are able to master fundamental concepts. Every student is able to experience success at some level. I, as an educator, serve as a catalyst for that student success.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
I earned my BS in Physics from Benedict College and my MS in Physics from GA Tech. I then participated in a two year program to earn my GA teaching certificate. I have been teaching math and science for 10 years during which I have taken continuing education credits. I also attended a technical school to gain some education in health sciences.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have taught online college algebra and physics courses. At the high school level, I’ve taught various levels of Physics including technical, honors, and AP.I currently teach engineering and technology at the middle school level. During my teaching years I have also tutored math and science to individual students.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
I sponsor the robotics club at my current school. We build and program Lego robots with the middle school students. I also volunteer with the praise dance ministry at my church, where I serve the dancers and assist with staging and costume changes. I occasionally am able to volunteer at my children’s school as a parent helper for school functions.
