EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
Education is life-long learning, both in and out of the classroom. As educators, we must inspire a love of learning. We must be responsive to where are students are at, meet them, and from there expand and elevate their thinking. We also must challenge our students to search for their own inspirations and to rise to fulfill their unique potentials.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
I have over seven years of university education, including a degree in English. Prior to majoring in English, I majored in business management and liberal arts. I am currently a full-time graduate student working on my MFA in creative writing through National University, online. As a life-long learner, I read and research everyday.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I taught ESL in Mexico, and I taught kindergarten and preschool in Nevada. I was also an assistant teacher for a second grade class with LAUSD. I have also taught yoga to people of all ages.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
I am a full-time single parent. We like to bike, canoe, and go to the beach, as well as read and play Scrabble. I cook and bake and maintain our home and am responsible for everything that life brings our way for all three of us.
