As a student who struggled through many math and English classes, I realize the many obstacles that can prevent a student from learning to their best ability. My educational philosophy is focused on the empowerment of the student. Confidence is key for student success, and can only be achieved with patience and encouragement. I believe that every student can achieve success, it is only a matter of finding the way for the needs of each particular student.

I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Visual Arts from Trent University, Peterborough Ontario, in May 2011. The following year, May 2012 I received my Bachelor of Education from Queen’s University, Kingston Ontario. I specialized in access to education for exceptional learners.

My name is Mary and I am a 24-year-old recent university graduate living in Ontario, Canada. I have been working with students for many years; beginning with extra-help programs, volunteering at schools and working with youth groups. I also have teaching experience at a variety of levels ranging from third grade to high school. Currently, I tutor mainly on the topics of math and English for students ranging from second to seventh grade.

In my free time I love being creative! Whether it is drawing in my sketchbook or painting a picture, I love to create! I also enjoy spending time with my family, listening to music and watching TV, sewing and reading!
