EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
The more we know, the less we know. So it is better to know more of nothing than little of everything.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
I attended St John’s University for four years in a very diverse environment. This taught me a lot about different cultures and how learning differs within each culture. My elementary and middle school days were spent in New York at Bilingual schools. This helped me understand how to learn in both Spanish and English.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
One student of mine was a 6-six-year-old child with ADHD and Autism. He was having trouble in reading, writing and Spanish. He started off in special education and was placed into the gifted class the next year.
Another student of mine was a 16-year-old who was having trouble with English, writing and grammar. He went from a C- average the semester before to B+.
Another student was a 20-year-old college student. We went over her essay topics and readings and really focused on what her personal strengths and weaknesses were so that we could polish her essays.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
I tutored in my spare time most of the time during school. I also love yoga. When I’m not doing either, I like to participate in charity events. My last event was the Color Mania 5K Run. Each event teaches you something new.
