EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
I believe that all students can reach their academic goals given a creative student centered approach to learning. It is important to celebrate the small academic successes as building blocks to achievement. When multiple means of representation is offered each student is capable of making gains.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
While in high school, I recognized an interest in teaching. I majored in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in education, special education, and creative drama. I continued my advanced degree in education. After receiving my masters degree, I continued to take graduate courses in assistive technology to expand my knowledge of academic access.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have had extensive experience teaching in the middle school classrooms, as well as, at the university level. My middle school experience includes both general education and special education classes.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
My passion for educating others expands outside of the traditional school setting. I volunteer on a committee that focuses on autism awareness and fundraising. I have also worked with homeless women to improve their basic computer skills in a job readiness program.
