Even though we are dealing with students in the “Tech Era”, there are basic foundations that they must have in order to be successful. Used correctly, technology can be a huge benefit for students. However, many students still need help from a “live” person. All children can learn; it just takes different strategies and tools to get the job done.

I received my BA from a small college in North Carolina. This experience afforded me a small learning environment to grow and expand not only my educational background, but my social one as well. Deciding to experience an online education, I pursued my Masters via Lesley University and thoroughly enjoyed the interaction with others across the globe. Hence, with my particular learning preferences, I can empathize with students who like to learn independently and collaborate online with others.

I taught Gifted Education for students in grades 6-8 for 1 year. In addition, I taught grades 7-12 in a large urban school district with varied levels for 20 years. In th have taught Inclusion, Standard, Advanced, Honors, MYP-IB, and AP Language.

I have worked with the Chess Club at the middle school level. At the high school level, I have worked with the following student clubs:
Odyssey of the Mind Club, Gay-Straight Alliance Club, and
AVID.
