EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
Everyone has the capacity to learn new concepts. Reading is fundamental and necessary for math studies and computer usage as well as for writing, social studies, science and other core classes.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
I attended University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill where I Majored in Psychology. I then went on to complete my MA in Theological Studies.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have tutored children and taught adults through local public and charter schools and community colleges as well as via literacy programs professionally since 1984 and as a college and junior high school student during the 1970’s to early 1980’s. I have worked as a recruiter and presenter for adult students the past 18 years. I have been honored and humbled to have taught exceptional adults. Many of my years as an adult and teen student have been spent volunteering to tutor others in math and reading.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
Since a teenager in the 1970’s, I have worked in areas of broadcasting, storytelling and dramatics. I have professionally been employed the past 29 years as a radio broadcaster on Sundays, and the past 18 years as a TV producer and host as a service to the community. I provide counseling to job seekers and those in need of life skills.
