EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
I believe that it is important to educate the whole child. Education is more than just rote memorization of facts, it is about developing a love for learning, and recognizing individual progress, no matter how small. Education is about building relationships, and chasing your dreams.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
I graduated from Nipissing University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts Honours in History. During my undergraduate degree, I had the privilege of studying more than just History. I also explored topics such as: English, Philosophy, World Religions, Gender Equality and Social Justice.
In 2013 I graduated from Nipissing University with a Bachelor of Education. During my education degree, I got classroom experience teaching English, Canadian History, and Civics and Careers.
Everyday that I teach, I learn something new about myself, my students, or a particular subject. I consider myself a life long learner and look forward to more educational opportunities that the future brings.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have experience teaching English abroad (in England) to Grades 7 – 12. In Ontario, I have taught Introduction to Anthropology, Psychology and Sociology and Travel and Tourism as a long term occasional teacher.
For my own classrooms, I have taught Canadian History, English, Introduction to Anthropology, Sociology, and Psychology, Travel and Tourism, and Civics and Careers.
I have a broad interest in many different subjects in the social sciences and humanities, ask me and I might be able to help!
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
My favourite hobby is cross stitching. I like to make cross stitches of my favourite video games, TV shows, and books or just gifts for my friends and family.
