EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
I view a teachers role as not just as an instructor, but as a guide. We should be finding the strengths that lie within each student and foster those strengths. Teachers wear many different hats and it’s up to us to ensure the well-being of the whole child.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
Out of high school, I immediately enrolled in my local community college, where I first focused on obtaining my Early Childhood Education units, as to be able to work in a preschool setting. This, as well as working as a paraeducator in a public school setting, allowed me to continue to work with children and gain experience as I finished my undergrad and credential program.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
From the age of 19, I knew I wanted to make a difference in the lives of children. My very first job was at Chuck E. Cheese’s! Since then, I’ve worked in accredited preschools, private elementary schools, special needs classrooms, charter schools, and public schools. This eclectic work experience has allowed me to experience all areas of the spectrum relating to academic ability and socio-economic status. This is something I take great pride in.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
I’m a lover of the outdoors, especially camping! I really enjoy exploring new local places, traveling, and anything that involves the term ‘adventure’. I’m an avid reader, somewhat of a political buff. When I have the time and resources, I also love working on arts and crafts of all sorts.
