I strongly believe that the purpose of education is to lead students to discover their own power and capabilities. Learning is about taking chances, making mistakes and moving forward. Life is full of so many opportunities to learn and grow!

I received my Bachelor’s Degree at McMaster University with majors in English and Art History and a minor in History. I also received my Bachelor’s Degree in Education and am certified to teach in Ontario.

I am an English, History, Special Education and Visual Arts teacher. I am currently an Occasional Teacher with the District School Board of Niagara in Ontario, Canada. I have had multiple opportunities to lead my own classroom and I have done a lot of work in preparing students for success on the Ontario Literacy Test. I have also worked one-on-one with multiple students providing Home Instruction for a variety of subjects.

A very important part of teaching is getting involved in the school community outside of the classroom. I coach softball; I am involved with planning students council events (dances, semi-formals, prom); and I run an after-school Board Games club. That is just what I am currently involved in. I have been involved in a variety of other extra-curricular activities during my short teaching experience.
