It is the teacher’s first priority to engage the student – to earn a student’s trust. Once the platform is set, the teacher and the student can attack the material together. Although it should be established that the teacher is in the position of responsibility, the teacher and the student should work together to create a thriving didactic environment.

At the University of Ottawa, I attained a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre before going to the University of Toronto to complete my Bachelor’s of Education Degree at the University of Toronto. I completed an English teaching practicum at a local Catholic high school, and then my Drama practicum at an inner-city Toronto high school (for kids who have multi-lingual and multi-cultural backgrounds). I am a certified teacher in Ontario.

Professionally, I taught English in South Korea for 4 years, and for a teen English program in Toronto, Canada. I have taught a wide variety of ages, varying from Kindergarten to Adults. I have taught phonics, creative writing, grammar and various other aspects of English – always trying to incorporate my Drama background into my lesson plans.

Travel is my biggest hobby, as I’ve been to over forty countries. I have been all over Europe, Asia and South America. My theatre background also inspires me to be heavily into the local film/theatre scene. As a former lead singer of a rock band, music is also a significant passion of mine.
