Chalk Talk: Helping Your Struggling Student

As students progress to more advanced learning and application of learning, their knowledge of concepts and usage is called upon more often. Students are expected to know and be able to do certain skills at every grade level; as students move to the next grade, these skills require students to be prepared. When students struggle with a certain subject area or in applying specific skills, help is needed. Not only at that moment, but for future learning. Teachers are called upon to meet students’ academic needs, with additional assistance to those who may be struggling. Parents can play a role as well to further assist that classroom support. Resources available to teachers are also available to parents and students. Websites specific to education, subject area associations, textbooks as well as educational centers in every town are all available to assist the struggling student. Take a look at what resource or resources can help your struggling student. Assisting your child with skills and knowledge when they need it can benefit them long after that moment.
