- Tablets in K-12 Education - As schools look to utilize technology in the classroom, there are five ways in which tablets most noticeably are being integrated into the curriculum. Personalized learning, creative interactivity, online learning, formative assessments and evaluations are changing. It is suggested that tablets will lead to more creative and collaborative experiences for K-12 students.
- Massive Open Online Courses - While higher education has widely accepted massive open online courses (MOOCS) it’s not really an area in which K-12 curriculum has been vested, until now. The company, Coursera, is hoping to break into the market by offering free teacher professional development. It is possible K-12 courses could be shared online on a wider scale in the future.
- New Paperless Systems - All school related fees for the Rosemount-Apple Valley-Eagan Public Schools will be payable online with a new educational software intended to aid the district in going paperless. Previously, parents paid by cash and check for items such as registration, school lunches, field trips, sports events and transportation services.
