Keeping Informed: Recent Arab Educational News
- NASA Opportunity - Female high school juniors from all over the country can apply for a wonderful opportunity! WISH (Women in STEM High School) for Aerospace Scholars is seeking juniors to attend the summer experience at NASA. STEM, or Science, Tech, Engineering, and Math, focuses on these subject areas and has many enriching activities within these subject areas. The summer experience has challenging educational opportunities, such as the interacting with charting a course to planet Mars, talk to female NASA members, and learn about the many careers STEM has to offer.
- Cross Country Win - Both the boys and girls cross country running team came home with the first place medal at the challenging Cross Country Meet of Marshall County. This was a championship win for the teams! Arab Schools represented team unity very successfully as they placed in the top categories very close to each other in the races. Great job to the boys and girls!
- Pop Tabs for 4-H - Donations to the Ronald McDonald House can be done using pop tabs through the 4H Club of Arab Junior High School. The students of Arab want to beat the last year's goal of $20K that they gave to the Charities of the Ronald McDonald House! The Ronald McDonald House provides a safe place for family members or patients in times of long term illnesses. Help them beat their goal!

With all the things that can happen to students during the school day, it is nice to have someone on duty that is trained to deal with sickness or injury. A school can have hundreds of students, and a school nurse is irreplaceable. The school nurse is trained and licensed and is able to make quick and crucial decisions about a student's health. School nurses also communicate with parents about individual student's allergies or other medical needs. A school nurse gives peace of mind and is priceless!
