Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Atmore District Curriculum

Atmore has a school district within the Escambia County Public School System. It is comprised of five elementary schools, three middle schools, and three high schools, as well as one technical school. The district is accredited with qualified educators who use a variety of techniques and teaching practices to meet the individual needs of all learners, including special education students and exceptionally gifted individuals. Traditional academic learning is supported by electives and enhanced coursework.

Escambia County Public Schools boasts a Science Center, The Turtle Point Science Center, a hands-on science exploratory experience for all. The Science Center is revolutionary, sitting on twenty acres, and containing all things science, such as reptiles, birds, fish, amphibians, gardens of all types and species, a pond, and plenty of sites to see on the boardwalk. Field trips and group tours are given here, and it supplements all science curriculum standards of the state of Alabama and Escambia County Public Schools.
