Auburn City Schools has a goal to have all students be attentive to many types of literature, both fiction and nonfiction. The Language Arts curriculum entails requiring the students to be successful in comprehending informational text throughout all subject areas, as well as requiring an increased understanding and appreciation within the literary works that are required for them to study.  The Language Arts guide of study exemplifies a goal of the model of a literate thinker in the twenty-first century. Pupils who are successful readers and writers show a natural appreciation for reading itself, both for pleasure and for studying.

  • FACES - The Foundation for Auburn’s Continuing Enrichment in Schools is a non-profit foundation which funds various mini-grants, a maximum of $600, to educators encouraging classroom development by way of creative programs. This foundation has programs that reward exceptional classroom teaching via the Awards of Excellence Program.
  • Auburn City Schools Tiger TV - Tiger TV is a mass- media program at Auburn High School that students control and direct a television station. Tiger TV broadcasts to the high school on a closed-circuit system. There is also a locally run cable channel, Channel 16, and it has information about the Auburn Community. Ideal for parent communication, it is a way for the students to have real-life experience in reporting and running a televised broadcast.
