Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Bay Minette District Curriculum
The schools of Bay Minette are comprised within the Baldwin County School District. In Bay Minette, the goals consist of putting student learning first, knowing that collaboration is vital in the solution of multipart problems, and having an exceptional environment for the students to express ideas. Other goals of Bay Minette schools are to honor diversity, to remain professional in all circumstances, and to have an open ear to the community.
Innovation done consistently throughout Baldwin County Schools leads to success for all. In writing, the students are frequently exposed to a multitude of literature to aide in the writing process. The students begin writing at the pre-K level, and with thorough instruction that focuses on their ideas and creativity, along with thinking skills, the students become very successful writing in all subject areas. Technology is used to take the writing to a higher level, such as incorporating their written essays into blogs, forums for students, power points, and publisher.

SchoolTutoring has played an important role in improving our son’s confidence and attitude towards school. His grades have also improved steadily throughout the school year.
My daughter was able to improve her test scores after a few months of tutoring with SchoolTutoring. However, while raising test scores is great, the real payoff is in the self-confidence that she gained.
I just wanted to send a quick note to say thank-you! My son is very impressed with his tutor and looks forward to each session. What’s particularly amazing about this is our son has never really looked forward to math or school for that matter!
We are so happy with the results of your tutoring program and academic support. Homework time was such a stressful evening for the entire evening before we brought your tutors into our home. Thank you for all your help!
Our daughter, a first grader, struggled with basic reading and handwriting. When she began with SchoolTutoring she was almost a year behind her class. Within a year of being enrolled, she is reading above her grade level and has the confidence to match.

Chalk Talk: Reading Coaches
Reading coaches are hired by the school district to help the teachers use the highest-level of instructional practices in reading and writing. Reading coaches go into the classrooms and assist teachers in the reading and writing lessons, give workshops that are grade-level specific, and offer advice to new reading teachers. Reading coaches can be hired by any school district that wants to improve the reading program, or simply be sure that the reading and writing program is on cue.
