As part of the science curriculum, students in Bay Village participate in a study of environmental science. This curriculum is implemented at the high school level and includes advanced studies in scientific inquiry. Students learn to devise and conduct experiments, as well as collect and analyze data. The study of earth systems is undertaken to better understand the interconnected nature of the biosphere.

The Bay Village social studies curriculum provides students with a window into the past through the study of historical events and people. Social studies involves a number of subjects, including American history, world history, geography, and economics. By examining events of the past, students are able to make connections with the events of today, and see that history is not a series of disconnected events. Chalk Talk: Benefits of Multiculturalism

As the world continues to become more and more interconnected, its important that public schools offer children learning experiences that include multicultural awareness. Multicultural activities allow students to experience traditions and events with which they may not be familiar. Doing so allows children to expand their understanding of the world around them, while also promoting tolerance and acceptance of others. Multicultural studies give students insight into the perspective of others as well, allowing them to see the world through someone else’s eyes. It allows students to see the roots of current events and recognize the importance of individuals in history. Students are able to confront stereotypes and prejudicial behavior, while also developing a positive self-image. The benefits of teaching young people about multiculturalism also promotes social justice.
