Students learn algebraic patterning and problem-solving during the early years and are introduced to more advanced relational thinking during high school.

Comprising the K-12 learning goals of reading are, in the area of writing, an encompassing curriculum that naturally emerges into the reading program of study. Teaching the students the steps and thinking methods of the writing process from the primary grades is the key in the development and structuring of good writing. Chalk Talk: The Importance of School Communication

Schools that have open communication with the community members, whether it is through a website, an automated phone system, newsletters that go home with the students, using the local media (or all of these methods) show the community that they care about the involvement of all. It prevents issues with parents and students questioning about what is going on, and prevents negativity that can arise from lack of communication. School systems that have multiple ways to interconnect with the stakeholders are those systems that acknowledge the utmost significance of the community members.
