- Basic Skills Orientation - The Gaston College is set to start a Basic Skills Orientation (BSO) program for the new students aged 18 or above. Students are required to register and attend classes at the campus. Timetables and schedules have been defined and are to be followed by all.
- Outstanding Educators Awarded - The Gaston County Schools awarded four of their employees the titles of the Most Outstanding Educators for 2014-2015 in a ceremony held at the Gaston Country Club annually in May.
- GCS Students to Attend Governor’s School - Around 12 of the Gaston County School students have been selected to study at the Governor’s school in North Carolina. These students were selected based on their previous academic performances in various subjects.
- Campaign Provides for Books for GCS - The Gaston County Health department in collaboration with the First Book organization held a program entitled “Literacy Builds Health”. Teachers of primary schools received a large number of free books as part of the campaign.
