Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Bessemer City District Curriculum

The district makes use of the latest and state of the art technology to teach our kids various environmental, social and everyday issues that occur in our daily lives. They then proceed to explaining the matter in each case and what exactly be done to avoid them. The schools encourage our students to speak up on various topics or write down in case of older students of higher grades. This makes them aware of routine issues that may encounter them or their families so they may know how to handle them. This also builds up their English vocabulary and writing skills, further boosting up their academic confidence.

Most of the time for Math and Science concepts, the schools use real objects to explain them to kids. They perform simple scientific experiments especially for topics like identification of senses, shapes and concepts of thick/thin, tall/short. These concepts are well understood by real life examples of objects and propel students’ conceptual understanding of the subject before they begin more advanced work.

Chalk Talk: Write it Down!

With our daily routines full of so many chores and tasks, we are always up to our heels to see all work is done and finished off within the time limit we have. In this hustle bustle, we sometimes forget to do some of our tasks. If the important ones are forgotten, then we are in a fix as to what to do now? It is best to therefore write down whatever tasks you have to work upon, whatever grocery you require from the market and so on. In this way, you will not forget anything and you can start off with the highest priority jobs. Take care of them before you do anything less important. You can even download any particular app in your mobile that can keep a record of your daily chores. Your mobile is handy and you carry it with you most of the time, so you can always refer to the list wherever you are, at work or study, at home or out.
