Chalk Talk: How to Have a Successful Parent-Teacher Conference
Parent-teacher conferences are one of the most effective ways to communicate with your student’s teacher and make plans for a successful education. Here are some ways to get the most out of these meetings. First, ask your student if there are any questions or concerns he or she would like for you to discuss with the teacher. Write down everything that you would to bring up. Take something for taking notes during the meeting. Be sure to phrase things in a positive way, and come up with solutions to problems. Write down the plans that you forge with the teacher. Because the teacher has many other parents to see, be mindful of his or her time by arriving on time and not staying past your scheduled time.
