Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Bradford District Curriculum
In Language Arts, and across subject areas, textbook and primary source reading will be the main source of non-fiction literature, however independent and group reading times will be filled with it as well. Students will begin to write non-fiction pieces including research papers, instructions, and descriptive pieces. Finally, once students have mastered theses skills, students will work to develop presentation skills to represent their own unique work.
Technology education is emphasized as well since technology is becoming more and more important during these current times. Students also begin taking standardized exams in elementary school to determine proficiency in Core subjects. High school graduates must have taken all required courses and passed proficiency exams. They are offered many electives and classes which will prepare them for their goals in a career or in college, whatever their next step will be.

My daughter was able to improve her test scores after a few months of tutoring with SchoolTutoring. However, while raising test scores is great, the real payoff is in the self-confidence that she gained.
I just wanted to send a quick note to say thank-you! My son is very impressed with his tutor and looks forward to each session. What’s particularly amazing about this is our son has never really looked forward to math or school for that matter!

Chalk Talk: How to Apply for College Scholarships
Applying for college scholarships can be equally as important as applying for colleges. However if you go to websites such as Fastweb.com looking for scholarships, the number and likelihood of winning one may feel more like a lottery than a scholarship search. There are, however, ways in which you can find scholarship more locally as well. First, ask your school guidance counselors for information. They may have a website where they post local scholarships or they may have a list handy. Go through these. Also, apply for the scholarships offered specifically by the college or University that you plan to attend. Find out if the companies your family members work for have scholarships. Also, if you are a minority group, have a unique strength or disability, or some other distinguishing factor about yourself, you may be able to find scholarships based on that.
