Chalk Talk: Why a Healthy Breakfast Is Important for your Child
When the kids are waking up and fighting daylight, it may be that the last thing on your mind is sitting them down for breakfast. So what is the big deal anyway? Studies have shown that a child who has eaten a good breakfast is more alert in class and less distracted in their studies. It turns out that food fuels the brain which is necessary for top performance in school. And your child won’t be distracted by those hunger pains either. So, even though your child doesn’t want to get out of bed, it’s worth the extra ten minutes it will take for them to eat a good, balanced breakfast with grain, protein, and sugar. Also, children who have a breakfast routine at home will better develop good eating habits as they grow up and go out into the world. This will prepare them for another rigorous day at school and success in the future.
