In the subject of Language Arts, the Common Core Standards is used as the framework and details how students will learn to read literary and informational texts, write for a range of purposes, use a writing process, and to listen and speak with critical thinking skills. The Common Core Standards also provides the framework for Math and describes the skills of numeracy, algebra, geometry and data analysis.
Other core academic subjects follow similar models that lay out the broad topics students will be introduced to and the yearly expectations for learning within each. In the Sciences, students learn about earth science, biology, chemistry, physics, environmental science and technology. For students who enter a subject-specific program in their high school years the curriculum will detail the goals for learning, how the content will be infused into real world learning activities, and what the outcomes for each student will be.

- Citizen School at CMS - The Citizen School is an after-school program for students at Campbell Middle School. This is an opportunity for student learning to meet real world experiences and a key component to the experience are the apprenticeships that students take on.
- Theater Kids Program - The Theater Kids Program is available to students at Campbell Middle School who enjoy acting and other aspects of the performing arts. This is also a great way to teach students about team-work and project planning skills.
- PLTW at WHS - Project Lead the Way is an initiative in the STEM fields of science, technology, engineering and math. Students are engaged with a number of different hands-on and experiential learning experiences through this program.
