Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Chicoutimi-Jonquière District Curriculum

The curriculum used in the local schools was developed by the province to encompass the range of knowledge and ability that a student should attain within each subject. The curriculum provides objectives, or targets, for learning at each grade level in the subjects a student takes in school. These are based on local, national and international standards of learning intended to prepare students for the challenges of work and learning in the 21st century.

There are curriculum provided for elementary and secondary education programs, religious and intercultural education programs, adult education, special education and as the need for programs develop, the province works with educators and practitioners to develop a comprehensive overview for the teaching and learning in the subject.
