Chalk Talk: Choosing an Enrichment Program or Extracurricular Activity

Enrichment and extracurricular learning is a big part of a student's development. They should be taken as an opportunity to enhance learning in an area of particular interest and also as a chance to try out something that sounds somewhat interesting. There are a number of extracurriculars that have made a big impact in students' lives and helped them to realize what they want to do in their future. For instance, Mock Trial or the Debate Team has a long tradition and is well-suited for future lawyers, politicians, and community leaders. Mathletics and Science Olympiad offer students who excel in these subjects the chance for competition and collaborative learning. Students should take these opportunities seriously and find an option that can support their personal goals and interests.
