Chalk Talk: Importance of Parent Involvement
It’s no secret that one of the primary keys to a child’s success in school is having involved and supportive parents. To give your child the best opportunity to be academically successful, help create a home environment that is conducive to learning. Give your child a designated space to read, study and do homework. Minimize distractions during study time to ensure your child can work without interruption. Set high expectations for your child that challenge them to push themselves, yet are realistic and attainable for them to achieve. Be available to your child as they work, in case they need help or guidance on their assignments. Also stay in contact with your child’s teachers. The more you understand the expectations of your child, the better you can help your child achieve them.
