Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Commerce District Curriculum

In Math, students develop a number of skills and strategies to solve problems in numeracy, algebra, geometry and data analysis each year. In the Sciences, students are instructed in the skills required of scientists and the facts and principles associated with the major content areas of earth science, biology, chemistry, physics, environmental science, engineering, and technology.

In Language Arts, students learn about how to read a variety of texts, write for a range of purposes while developing a writing process, and other communication skills and strategies. Through their Language Arts classes, students learn a wide range of reading and communication skills that support all other areas of learning which prepares students for the next steps in their education.
