Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Corona District Curriculum

The problem-solving skills involved in numeracy, algebra, geometry and data analysis are covered over school year. In the Sciences, develop processes and learn foundational knowledge about earth and environmental science, biology and chemistry, and physics and technology. In the subject of Language Arts, students develop an understanding different literary and non-fiction texts along with the ability to write narratives, exposition, and opinion pieces. Other critical thinking and communication skills are developed through the Language Arts curriculum.

The design of the curriculum requires that students use their previous year's knowledge to understand more complex subject matter. This calls on students to use reflective thinking which helps to promote other critical thinking skills like interpretation, evaluation and reasoning.
